5 Vapers in Movies and TV
A study found that nearly 3 million adults in the UK alone used e-cigarettes by 2015 with many more million units sold worldwide. This means that it’s no surprise that vaping is moving into our TV and movies as well. Here’s some notable movies and TV shows that feature vaping.
Despite originally airing in America on HBO, True Detective season one and two have been released on DVD in the UK. Despite vaping only having a small role in this TV show, it is still there. Rachel McAdams’ character Detective Ani Bezzerides vapes regularly throughout season 2 of the hit show.
In this notoriously bad film, John Cusack’s character Simon Keller vapes throughout nearly all of his screen time! Notably, this isn’t the only movie where John has advertised his personal vaping habits. In both Maps to the Stars and Reclaim he also vaped throughout. We’re starting to wonder if this is written into his contract. Despite his role in regularly publicising vaping in his films, we wouldn’t recommend vaping fans watching any of these atrocious films – they’re all extremely poor!
When you think vaping in movies, this is something that springs to the mind of a lot of people perhaps due to the fact this film was created in 2010 – quite a while before vaping became the latest craze. Maybe it was Johnny Depp’s character that started the trend, who knows?
Popular futuristic TV show, Humans, features Neil Maskell as a detective who regularly vapes throughout both seasons of the show.
The Lazarus Effect:
With good reason, we’ve left this shocking film until last. Surely the least appreciated film on this list, we definitely wouldn’t recommend watching this one! Clay, performed by Evan Peters, uses his electronic cigarette throughout.
